Designed the interactive sound system and original soundtrack for a metaverse-based media artwork, shaping an immersive sonic experience inspired by the cosmology of the five elements.
Live Performance: 만물관객, 리추얼 천골 (Manmulgwanggaek, Ritual Cheongol)
Artists: 고헌, 권세현, 성은지, 성창현, 임금님.
Designed a real-time bio-signal data sonification in Max/MSP that transforms the respiratory resonance frequency data of four dancers into sound, using I Ching trigrams as a structural framework for harmony and rhythm.
This project explores how orchestral textures can be produced from a minimal sample set using granular synthesis. The system was implemented end-to-end in code and used to generate a range of orchestral textures, including drum rolls, string legatos, and pad-like timbres, from only two 3-second source samples, with custom delay and reverb processing applied in the final composition.
Exhibition: 식물의 소리 (DMZ 자생식물 DNA Sonification 음감회, 서울숲)
Artists: 권병준, 이다영.
Developed and operated a Max/MSP patch to translate the DNA data of DMZ native plants into real-time auditory experiences. Also provided technical support for designing harmonically and melodically coherent progression algorithms for real-time data-to-sound mapping.
A performance-oriented MIDI controller that non-musicians could use intuitively in live performance. Using an Arduino equipped with gyroscope and accelerometer sensors, the controller estimates orientation and rotational motion, transmits the resulting data to PureData, and maps these measurements to sound parameters. Flipping the device switches MIDI channels, while LED brightness provides immediate performance feedback.
VR Media Art: 경기도박물관 '천년경기와 미디어의 만남 in 봄' VR Media Art: Retrospect & Prospect, 책가도
Creators: Prof. Boa Lee and the Research Team (Art & Technology, Sogang University).
Produced the original soundtrack and designed the sound interaction system for a media artwork that reinterprets Jang Han-jong's Chaekgado from a contemporary perspective.
